Sabrina has had a love for horses and dogs her entire life. Her grandparents had a big impact in this, with her grandmother being into horses and enjoying horse racing and her grandfather breeding and coursing hounds. Sabrina got her first pony when she was 4, and started coursing hounds with her grandfather when she was around 6, so it has been in her blood from the beginning.
Zach grew up with hunting dogs and is a small town country guy. He met Sabrina in 2010 and had no idea what he was getting into! He is very supportive and has adjusted well to all the fur kids they now have.
In 2015 Zach and Sabrina bought their first home together, a small acreage in Jefferson Iowa. Coming up with a fitting farm name was challenging...we take in horses from the track...have dogs that run and hunt...Ibizan hounds are known for being hard to catch and you want to win the race so do not want anyone to catch you! This is how we came up with Catch Me not Farm!
As for Treybeau... Sabrina's grandparents started Treybeau back in the 60's with Ibizan Hounds and Standard Poodles. The kennel also went on to have greyhounds, whippets, salukis and an afghan hound later on as well, but is mostly known for its Ibizan Hounds. Treybeau had the first AKC Champion and ASFA Field Champion Ibizan hound in the US, Sun King Eterna of Treybeau. Sabrina's grandfather stopped breeding dogs in the 90's and had not owned one for awhile until recently.
"Since I was a kid, I have looked up to him and wanted to continue on with his vision of the breed and his kennel name. So in 2016, we got our first Ibizan, which we co-own with my grandfather, Kamars Double Back to Treybeau, a new era for Treybeau! And to continue on the name, Treybeau Kennels is a part of Catch Me Not Farm now too!"
